help@eager.appSubscriptions & purchases
How do I restore a purchase on a new device?
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. You'll be asked to pass the parental gate first. Make sure the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase — purchases are tied to the Apple Account, not to the device.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled through Apple rather than through us. On your device open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, choose the app and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
I was charged but the app still shows the free version.
Try Restore Purchases in the app's Settings first. If that doesn't do it, email us at help@eager.app with the date of the charge and we'll sort it out.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all refunds for App Store purchases. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and choose the purchase. If Apple declines and you think that's a mistake, write to us and we'll do what we can to help.
What does the free version include?
Every app has content your child can use for free, with no account and no time limit. What a purchase adds depends on the app — in some it's the rest of the word lists or practice sets, in others it's extra tools for parents. Some apps are a one-time purchase and some offer a subscription. The purchase screen inside each app lists exactly what's included and the price before you pay.
For parents
What is the parental gate?
Anything that spends money or leaves the app sits behind a short arithmetic question that a young child is not expected to solve. It's there so a kid practising on their own can't wander into a purchase or a share sheet by accident.
What data do the apps collect about my child?
None. Our apps have no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs, and they don't send your child's work anywhere. A first name, if you enter one, is stored on the device to personalise the greeting and never leaves it. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do the apps need an internet connection?
No. Practice works entirely offline. A connection is only needed to make or restore a purchase, which is handled by the App Store.
Can I use one purchase for more than one child?
A purchase is tied to the Apple Account that made it, so it covers every device signed in to that account — use Restore Purchases on each one. Several apps also let you add more than one child profile on the same device.
Troubleshooting
The app won't open, or a screen is empty.
Force-quit the app and reopen it, and check that iOS is up to date under Settings → General → Software Update. If a screen is still empty, email us and say which screen it was — that's exactly the kind of report we want.
My progress or streak has disappeared.
Progress is stored on the device. Some apps also sync it through your own iCloud account, but otherwise it doesn't follow you to a new phone unless you restored from a backup. Don't delete the app if you want to keep it — deleting can remove the saved progress. If progress vanished on a device you've kept, write to us before reinstalling.
The read-aloud voice isn't working.
Read-aloud uses the voices built into iOS. Check that the device isn't muted and the volume is up, then look under Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content to confirm a voice is downloaded.
